Prohibition Enforcement Wing Police seized 9,450 litres of spirit being smuggled from Puducherry to Kerala on the Dindigul—Batlagundu road on Saturday night.
Police said the spirit, stored in 270 plastic cans, was worth Rs.18 lakh.
The mini lorry driver Sudhakar (26) said he was only asked to drive the lorry from Puducherry to Kerala and he was not aware of the consignment. He was taken into custody for further interrogation.
