Pass percentage goes up in Theni and Dindigul districts

Pass per centage went up to 97.01 in SSLC examination held in Theni district here on Friday, an increase by 0.53% when compared to previous academic year results of 96.48 per cent.

Dindigul district too registered a marginal increase in pass percentage to 94.44, an increase of 1.84% when compared to previous year results of 92.6%. Girls excelled boys in both districts.

Theni district rose to sixth place from eighth place in the state with a pass percentage was 97.1. (It had secured sixth place in HSC examination this year).

Of the total 16,595 candidates appeared for the SSLC examination, 16,114 students cleared it. A total of 99 out of 198 schools achieved cent percent results of which 55 were government and aided schools, according to Chief Educational Officer Vasanthi.

Dindigul

Of the total 26,885 students who appeared in the SSLC exam, 25,391 students in 336 schools passed in the SSLC examination.

Pass percentage rose to 94.44 this year from 92.6 in 2016. A total of 136 out of 336 schools including 39 government schools, five Kallar Schools, one Adidravida school, 26 aided schools, eight self finance schools and 57 matriculation schools achieved cent percent results in the district.

Pass percentage in matriculation schools was 98.81, highest in the district followed by self finance schools with 98.23 and aided schools with 96.3 per cent. Pass percentage in Adi Dravida Schools was 94.59 and Government schools achieved 90.74%. Pass percentage in Kallar Schools dipped to 89.07 from 91.50. Pass percentage of municipal and corporation schools was 80.98, lowest in the district.
