The Collectorate campus, headquarters of the District Collector’s office, here is one important and happening place, which is usually crowded with different types of people coming from far and near on all working days.
Though there are police personnel deployed in and around the campus, they are usually assigned for maintenance of law and order. The need of the hour is to regulate vehicle movement and avoid haphazard parking. According to Collectorate staffs, many two-wheelers and three-wheelers were parked anywhere and everywhere. As there is no check on the entry and exit of people, such anonymous parking was increasing.
To avoid such entry, surveillance cameras could be fitted at different locations. The officials may also insist on parking of vehicles in designated places. For instance, two-wheelers could be parked in the stand earmarked near the fire and rescue service station in the campus as it remained unused. Visitors coming to the Collector’s office in four-wheelers should also be provided a space and a log register should be maintained on the lines of those available in police department, the staff said.
