July 02, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:12 am IST - DINDIGUL:

Parents of a young woman mill worker appealed to the Superintendent of Police to investigate the mysterious death of their daughter in the place of accommodation under the control of a private mill in Palani near here on Friday.

In a petition submitted to the SP A. Saravanan, M. Mohanavalli and her husband Mokkai Raj said that their daughter Azhagu Sumathi, who was working in a private spinning mill at Vadipatti village in Palani block, was found dead in her place of stay on March 14, 2016. She had been working in the mill for the past two years. The management told that she committed suicide by hanging. It was not a natural death, they said suspecting that it was a murder.

“My daughter complained to us that the manager and supervisor of the mill harassed her often,” they said.
