March 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - MADURAI:

Panguni Uthiram festival at Sri Dhandayuthapani Swami Temple on Netaji Road here would be conducted from March 29 to April 4. Elaborate arrangements had been made to conduct the festival which would begin with 216 ‘thiruvilakku’ puja.

On all the seven days, ‘Skanda’ homam would be performed, followed by ‘Rudra’ japam and abishekams, said Executive Officer T. Malathi here on Friday. The temple administration had planned abishekams with the milk offered by devotees, who would take out a “milk pot” procession from the Vaigai. On April 3 (Panguni Uthiram), the deity would be taken in a ‘pallakku’ along four Masi streets. On the last day, annadhanam would be offered for about 5,000 people, she said.
