Over 36,600 students from 264 schools across Madurai district will appear for the State Board Higher Secondary Plus Two examinations, which will commence on March 3.

According to officials of the School Education Department, the examinations will be conducted in 89 centres in the three educational districts of Madurai, Melur and Usilampatti.

A total of 7,287 candidates will take the examination from Usilampatti educational district, 10,874 from Melur educational district and 18,440 from Madurai educational district.

The officials said Usilampatti educational district would have 21 centres in 50 schools, Melur educational district would have 27 centres in 93 schools and Madurai educational district would have 41 centres in 121 schools.

Logarithm tables, graphs sheets and statistical tables would be issued to the candidates and they would be permitted to use ordinary calculators without programming during the examinations, read a circular issued to the schools along with the examination schedule. The Plus Two board examinations will end on March 25.

SSLC examinations

The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations will commence on March 26 and will end on April 9. A total of 45,951 candidates will be taking the examination from the educational districts of Madurai, Melur and Usilampatti.

While 10,219 candidates will write the examinations in Usilampatti educational district, which will have 28 centres in 105 schools, 14,234 candidates will appear for the examinations in Melur educational district, which will have 38 centres in 156 schools.

Madurai educational district will have 21,498 candidates writing the examinations in 57 centres in 189 schools, according to the officials.

The SSLC board examinations would be conducted at 123 centres in 450 schools across the three educational districts, the officials also added.
