An Assistant Public Relations Officer, attached to Tiruvallur Collectorate, died in a road accident near here on Saturday night.
Madurai Rural Police said that Dilip (29), son of Veeranan of Thiruthangal near Sivakasi was driving a car from Usilampatti to Sivakasi via Tirumangalam. The car had reportedly hit a boulder and toppled. Dilip died on the spot. Sindupatti police station registered a case.
Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi, Information and Public Relations Director Baskaran, Tiruvallur Collector Rajesh and Madurai Collector C. Kamaraj, among others, conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family members, an official said.
