The Directorate of Medical Education has rushed a senior official from Chennai on Thursday to check availability of medicines and other important requirements for patients in the dengue wards of Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) here.
N. Muthurajan, Deputy Director of Medical Education, took stock of the situation in the wake of complaints from a couple of doctors in dengue wards that important medicines were not being supplied in time. “Everything is alright now. Adequate stock of all medicines and IV fluids are available,” he told The Hindu . He inspected special wards meant for admitting patients with fever, and for dengue treatment.
Dr. Muthurajan expressed satisfaction that cleanliness and sanitation measures had been taken on a large scale in the hospital premises. “All facilities are in place in the fever wards and more beds have been added. Dengue is now on the decline,” he said.
He said that a report would be submitted to the Health Secretary and Director of Medical Education if specific issues have to be taken to their attention.
Dean N. Mohan, along with his senior colleagues in the hospital, explained Dr. Muthurajan about quick action being taken to meet the dengue fever challenge.
