A teacher of a private school has been booked under Indian Penal Code as an LKG student, Samarth Nanduri (4), son of Madurai Corporation Commissioner, Sandeep Nanduri, suffered a fracture on a finger after it was accidentally crushed while closing a door on the school premises on Saturday.

The teacher has been booked under Section 338 of IPC for causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety. The boy, studying in the K.K. Nagar branch of Vikaasa School, had been to the main school in Ponnagaram to participate in the school’s Annual Day function. The boy was accompanied by his mother, a staff of Commissioner’s camp office, P. Kalidoss (27), and another woman.

A teacher had denied permission to the boy and the woman when they returned to the hall after going out around 10.30 a.m. The teacher shut the door from inside when the middle finger of the left hand of the boy got crushed. Samarth has been admitted to a private hospital. Based on a complaint lodged by Kalidoss, Karimedu police have registered a case.
