New party launched in Madurai

The Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam held their general council meeting here on Sunday and passed a draft of their resolutions which will be released this week.

“We are now functioning as a movement and have decided to launch our party ahead of the ensuing elections. The political party will be formally launched on Monday,” said Iyakkam president Tamizharuvi Manian.

Members of the movement will officially launch the party on Monday and spell out election plans.
