New age recruitment trends discussed at ICTAT Bridge 2015

The importance of developing communication skills among college students stressed.

Human Resources and digitisation of the department as well as the changes and evolution taking place was the focus at the ICTAT Bridge 2015 seminar on the theme ‘HR Summit’ organised by the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural of the 21st edition of the seminar, K. Ganeshan, Vice President Human Resources of the Tata Consultancy Services stressed on the importance of developing communication skills among college students which would benefit them during recruitment.

“It is important that students are made industry-ready and with the massive recruitment which is to happen, they should be well equipped and prepared,” he said.

Digitization

New age recruitment trends with respect to how digitization is influencing the process as well as how educational institutions had to effectively adapt to this were discussed in the seminar.

Key issues

The key issues focussed also included preparing students towards employability and recruitment trends across various industry domains.

M.V. Muthuramanalingam, Chairman of the Velammal Education Trust also spoke at the event and said the students and faculty members in colleges had an equal part in improving communication skills. He said that keeping themselves updated with technology by hosting seminars, group discussions and debates which will promote interaction and exchange of information, was important.

Anbu Thambi, Vice President ICTAT and M. Siva Kumar, CEO of ICTAT also spoke at the event.
