Work to go on simultaneously and conclude on June 15
National census 2011 and enumerating the number of houses in the district will commence simultaneously on June 1 and conclude on June 15.
The enumerators will visit every house from June 1 to get all information required for the census, according to Collector M. Vallalar.
In a release here on Friday, he said that enumerators will collect information including name of family head, number of male and female members in the family, construction material of the house, drinking water, kitchen and toilet facilities, house hold items and properties like bicycle, motor cycles, moped, car, jeep, van, transistor, radio and telephone in connection with listing of houses. The enumerators for the first time will collect information from the people like ownership of mobile phones, computers, internet, having treated or untreated drinking water facility and usage of banking services.
Enumerators undertaking the work for national census will collect information on names of the head and members of the family, birth date, marital status, employment and other activities, name of father, mother and husband or wife, birth place, present address and permanent address. This census will be useful to create a national population register and issue of special identity card to all. He appealed to the people to extend full cooperation to the officials in this connection.
