The 61 anniversary celebrations and music and arts festival at Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Samajam will commence from February 9 to 18.
Popular artistes are presenting vocal, bharatanatyam and among other concerts during the 10-day festival.
To begin with, vocalist Sikkil C. Gurucharan would be accompanied by Umayalpuram Dr. K. Sivaraman on mrudangam, Dr. S. Karthick on Ghatam and M. A. Sundareswaran on violin.
On Sunday (February 10), S. Sowmya is presenting a vocal concert with Neyveli R. Narayanan on mrudangam and Parur M.S. Ananthakrishnan on violin.
Noted vocal artist T.M. Krishna will present a concert on Monday (February 11) and S. Saketharaman on the next day.
On Wednesday (February 13), ‘harikatha’ would be presented by Dhamal S. Ramakrishnan. On February 14, a vocal concert by Sanjay Subramanyan and on Feb 15, Bombay Jayashri Ramnath’s concert is expected to draw a large crowd.
Again, a heartbeat ensemble by Dr. Ghatam S. Karthick is likely to attract a good turnout on February 16. He would be accompanied by U.P. Raju on mandolin, M.R. Gopinath on violin, Prapancham Ravindran on Mrudangam, Papanasam Sethuraman on Kanjira, R. Raman on Morsing and N. Sundar on Tabla.
A bharatanatyam performance by Urmila Satyanarayanan would be staged on February 17 and with a vocal concert by Gayathri Venkatraghavan on the concluding day, the festival ends, according to Samajam secretaries L. Rajaram and S. Venkatanarayanan.
