‘Mulaikattu' fest concludes

‘Mulaikattu' festival organised in different parts of the district concluded with peaceful note on Wednesday.

More than 200 women took out mulaipari (pot of seedlings) at Peravur near here as part of Sri Athi Parasakthi Amman Adi festival. The procession, which started from the temple, ended at a village tank, where 10-day old seedlings were immersed.

According to police sources, similar festival was conducted in more than 20 places of the district. Mulaiparis were immersed in kanmois such Nochioorani, Sothurani and the village tanks in the respective villages. Police made elaborate arrangements to streamline the processions.
