Mother poisons daughters to death

Two girls died after their mother, Mahesh (28) administered pesticide to them before consuming it herself following frequent quarrel with her husband, G. Prakash (35) at Rajapalayam on Sunday evening. The woman has been admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai. The deceased were identified as Abhinaya (7) and Meena (5).

Rajapalayam South Police have arrested Prakash, an electrician of Thiruvananthapuram Street for subjecting his wife to cruelty. The woman has been charged with murder and attempt to suicide. Police said that Prakash often picked up a quarrel with Mahesh in an inebriated condition. On Sunday evening too he fought with her following which the woman took the extreme step.
