Monkey attacks house surgeons at Government Rajaji Hospital

Four persons were injured after they were attacked by a monkey at Government Rajaji Hospital here on Monday. The incident occurred at the House Surgeon’s hostel in the morning.

Two house surgeons – Ajith Kumar (22) and Santhosh Kumar (22) were reportedly bitten by a monkey. Two attendants, who tried to shoo the animal away, were also attacked by it. Later, the injured persons were treated at the casualty ward.

When contacted, a senior hospital official said after a long time a case of monkey bite had been reported at the hospital.

“Steps will be taken to control the monkey menace soon,” the official added.
