A writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here in the name of a 17-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by five individuals at Malaikottai in Dindigul district in January this year.

The petitioner had sought compensation from the State government besides transfer of the investigation in the case from Vadamadurai All-Women Police Station to Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID).

Justice R. Subbiah on Monday adjourned the hearing of the case till next week. Filing an affidavit on behalf of the minor petitioner, her father said a relative of a politician had enticed her daughter to fall in love with him. Later, he took her to a secluded place in Malaikottai where he and four of his friends raped the girl before abandoning her in an unconscious state.

The victim underwent treatment for the injuries she sustained at Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai for more than nine days, he claimed.

Though a First Information Report was registered at Vadamadurai All-Women Police Station, the victim had not been paid any compensation yet, her father added.
