An emergency medical assistance booth has been opened at the railway junction here for the benefit of passengers and staff.

Divisional Railway Manager A.K. Rastogi inaugurated the booth set up by Vadamalayan Hospitals in the presence of its chairman and managing director V. Pugalagiri.

Mr. Rastogi said timely medical assistance will help in saving the lives of people during emergencies.

Stating that an emergency medical technician and a nurse will be available at the booth round-the-clock, he said first-aid and medicines would be given free of cost.

The railway would also provide space for the hospital to park an ambulance on the railway station premises, the DRM said.

Mr. Rastogi said that efforts would be taken to have such facility in other important railway stations in the division.
