Meat seized in city

Corporation inspection teams seized 335 kilograms of meat in the city on Friday since sale was banned on the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. C.Kathiravan, corporation commissioner, in a press release said that inspection was conducted in all the four zones. Slaughtering of animals was banned and instructions were given to keep the meat shops closed for the day. Fine was also imposed on the violators.

The Commissioner administered pledge to the corporation staff for eradicating untouchability in connection with the 68th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
