‘MDMK must contest Parliamentary elections alone’

July 29, 2013 11:50 am | Updated June 15, 2016 07:30 pm IST - MADURAI:

The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) should contest the Parliamentary elections independently.

This was the unanimous view conveyed by a large number of young speakers, who were not affiliated to any political party, at a meeting titled ‘Maatru Arasiyal.’ (alternative politics).

At a day-long meeting organised by the MDMK, which had invited over 1000 employed youths from different segments in the society voiced that the youngsters expected more from the MDMK leader Vaiko.

Speakers said that they had seen enough from the ruling AIADMK and its arch rival DMK in the past.

"Time has come for us to see some change for good," they said amid applause.

Addressing the youth from Chennai over telephone, Mr. Vaiko said that he would consider the views and take a final decision in consultation with his party functionaries.
