All is not well with the Corporation Rajaji Park here. A surprise inspection by Mayor V.V. Rajan Chellappa on Tuesday revealed that the contractor was issuing entrance tickets without the mandatory signature of Corporation Commissioner S. Natarajan. Deputy Mayor R. Gopalakrishnan and the Corporation Commissioner accompanied the Mayor.

Trade licence

The Mayor also instructed the contractor to get Dangerous and Objectionable Trade license for the savouries' shop inside the park. He wanted the shopkeeper to maintain hygiene of eatables sold there. Health officials were instructed to check the quality of edible oil used at the shop.

The Mayor also instructed the contractor to collect only the fees stipulated by the Corporation for toy train and giant wheel. The play equipment and the aquarium were not maintained properly, he said. It was also found that the public toilets in the park were not maintained properly.
