The Kodaikanal-Palani ghat road was closed for traffic for the second time this month due to breaches caused by landslip.

According to Kodaikanal police, the support provided for the ghat road near Saverikadu on the Palani side with sandbags withered in overnight rains.

A deep gorge has been formed on the ghat road due to the landslip.

Police said efforts were on to open the road for traffic in a couple of days.

However, continuous rainfall in the hills could hamper restoration work, locals said.

The road was closed for traffic for three days in the first week of this month when it was damaged in a huge landslide.
