Ms. Jayalalithaa will arrive by a chartered flight from Chennai, travel in a helicopter from Madurai airport and land at a new helipad put up near the meeting venue off Madurai-Thoothukudi National Highway.

The AIADMK supremo would seek votes at the public meeting for 14 candidates of her party from Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga and Thoothukudi districts.

Hundreds of police personnel have been deployed at the venue for bandobust. Additional Director General of Police J.K. Tripathy inspected the security arrangements on Thursday. Confusion prevailed over the timing of the meeting till Thursday night with word spreading that the meeting could be advanced to forenoon to avoid the hot sun.
