Music maestro Ilaiyaraja is ready to mesmerise the Madurai crowd with his magical tunes if sponsors are willing to come forward and support a concert.

Replying to a query on the popular demand to witness and hear his concert, Mr. Ilaiyaraja said on Sunday that it is a tedious exercise which involves a lot of work. “It needs a lot of work to conduct a concert, I would complete scoring music for a hundred films using that time,” he said.

“Moreover, a lot of money is also required and if we could get the sponsors, then having a musical concert here could become a reality. And yes I wish to soothe all the hearts, lets see if there is an opportunity,” replied the maestro.

Ilaiyaraja was in the temple city to inaugurate the 71 showroom of Malabar Gold and Diamonds worldwide and fifth outlet in Tamil Nadu at Vishal De Mal on Sunday. He inaugurated the first sale of gold to V. Pugalagiri, Chairman, Vadamalayan Hospitals.

People gathered inside and outside the Mall to get a glimpse of the legendary composer who has scored music for 950 films in 6 languages. The showroom has an exquisite collection of 100 per cent BIS Hallmarked 916 gold, International Gemmological Institute and Platinum Guild International certified diamond and platinum jewellery and hallmarked silver jewellery.

The exclusive brands of Malabar Gold and Diamonds include, Divine Indian Heritage Jewellery, Era-uncut Diamond Jewellery, Mine-diamonds unlimited, Ethnix-handcrafted designer jewellery, Starlet-Kid’s jewellery and Precia-Precious Gem Jewellery were on display at the showroom.

Besides gold, platinum and diamond jewellery, the collection includes silver articles and premium national and international watch brands like Rado, Tissot, Casio, Tommy Hilfigher and Titan, among others.

The company has ambitious plans to increase its worldwide retail network by targeting to complete 220 stores by the end of 2015, of which 35 showrooms would be in Tamil Nadu, said MP. Ahammed, chairman, Malabar Group.

The company has its brand ambassadors in music maestro Ilaiyaraja and popular film star Surya in Tamil Nadu to promote their products. Malabar Group is also involved in many charitable works as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
