Ideal Home exhibition begins in Madurai

The 29th All India Ideal Home exhibition, organised by the Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA), was inaugurated at the Tamukkam Grounds here on Friday.

Minister for Cooperation Sellur K.Raju said small-scale industries would help improve the State’s economy and stressed the importance of equipping the youth with skills to make them employable and encouraging entrepreneurship among them.

Mayor V.V.Rajan Chellappa said more such exhibitions must be conducted in Madurai to promote entrepreneurship and local talent. Deputy Mayor R.Gopalakrishnan was present.

The exhibition had 200 stalls in different bays. In an air-conditioned enclosure, entrepreneurs from Delhi had put up 24 stalls, selling handbags, artificial jewellery, electronic gadgets and kitchenware. Automobile companies displayed new models of cars. A special play area, including a swimming pool with mini boats, attracted children. The exhibition will be open till July 7.
