Students and faculty members of Lady Doak College formed a human chain from Government Rajaji Hospital to the district Collectorate here on Saturday as a part of their 16-day activism against gender violence campaign.

As many as 700 students and faculty members formed the human chain, holding placards and posters. They were joined by Commissioner of Police Sanjay Mathur, who expressed solidarity for their campaign. Speaking about the initiative, Beulah Rajkumar, Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies at Lady Doak College, said many members of the general public stopped by to read the placards and posters which had been put up. “A few people also came and interacted with the students about the cause,” she said.
