Family guests will be the focus of Hotel Sangam here during its New Year bash on December 31. Grand celebrations have been organised with sets to be erected in the hotel’s lawn based on the theme ‘jungle rumble,’ its deputy general manager G. Subramaniam said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

Lots of activities have been arranged for the occasion with popular television artistes and radio jockeys being invited to perform and anchor the event. A live band performance has also been set up, he said.

Dheeraj Vijayan, corporate chef, Sangam Hotels, said that a grand buffet would also be laid out on the occasion. “We are giving a lot of importance to food items. We are going back in time on this score. Boiled roots with different ‘chutneys’ and other boiled items would form part of the cuisine along with regular dishes,” he said.

K. Sundaramoorthy, food and beverages manager, said that a lot of contests would also be held on the occasion with prizes including flight tickets and holiday accommodation at different hotels and resorts in various parts of the country and also abroad up for grabs.

While a family ticket would cost Rs. 2,750, for stags coming with a family it would be prized at Rs. 1,500. For children in the age group of 5 to 12, Rs. 1,000 would be charged with Rs. 1,250 for those in the age group of 12 to 18 years, he said.
