March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - MADURAI:

The Madras High Court Bench here on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by garnet baron S. Vaikundarajan of V.V. Minerals to quash a case booked against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation on the charge of paying Rs. 7.5 crore in illegal gratification to A. Subbiah, former Chairman of V.O.C. Port Trust at Tuticorin. Justice M. Sathyanarayanan declined the plea on the ground that it was too premature to quash the case since the CBI had not completed its investigation.

However, he gave liberty to the petitioner to produce documents, if any, in his possession before the CBI to prove his innocence.
