Hearing adjourned

The Principal Sub-Court here on Friday adjourned hearing in a case filed by the Department of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments seeking the removal of Arunagirinatha Gurugnanasambanda Desikar as head of Madurai Adheenam. Hearing in the case has been posted for October 29.

The HR and CE Commissioner, P. Dhanapal, had filed a petition on Thursday, seeking removal of the head of Madurai Adheenam for violation of provisions of Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act. The counsel appearing for the Adheenam sought copies of the documents filed to substantiate the charges. Principal Sub-Judge, K. Guruvaiah, posted the case to October 29 for filing a counter petition and further arguments.
