India Post’s ‘My Stamp’ scheme, which was launched in Madurai on May 3, is getting good response.

The scheme, which enables a person to personalise the postal stamps with the photos of his or her choice, has found fans in the young and the old alike.

According to the Philatelic Bureau of the head post office here, around 20 people have already approached the bureau with their photos to give a personal touch to the postal stamps.

Logos of institutions, designs of heritage buildings and any other photos of the people’s choice could also be personalised in the stamps.

The applications, along with the photos, will be sent to the postal agency in Chennai, which will personalise the stamps.

The price for a ‘My Stamp’ sheet containing 12 personalised stamps will be Rs 300. Identity proof such as ration cards and voter’s id should be produced along with photocopies to apply for the scheme. School students can produce their school identity cards along with photocopies, authorities said. Further details can be obtained from 044-28543199.
