Three people were arrested and 150 kilograms of ganja was seized from them on Friday night by sleuths of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) here.

According to NCB sources, K. Paraman (40) from Tiruppur, M. Pandian (29) from Coimbatore and P. Sheik Alavudeen (30) from Erode were smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh to sell it to small-time sellers in Madurai and Theni regions. Acting on a tip-off, NCB personnel reportedly followed the car from Coimbatore. On inspecting the car, which was intercepted near Mattuthavani, NCB sources said 150 kilograms of ganja kept hidden in the trunk and back seat was seized. The three were later arrested and remanded. In another incident, Madurai city police arrested S. Valli (60) and N. Muthukalai (37) on Friday for possession and sale of ganja.
