Four ruling party men held

Madurai district police have arrested four persons in three incidents when they tried to bribe voters on Wednesday. In the first incident, the police said that two ruling party men, Bose and Selvam, were caught red-handed when they were distributing money in New Street in Kuruvuthurai. They had a list of voters and had ticked against those who had been given Rs. 250 per vote, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Samayanallur, A. Velmurugan, said. In the second incident, Sindhupatti police seized Rs. 81,000 concealed in a refrigerator in a locked house in Periya Vaigaikulam on Thursday afternoon. In the third incident, the Kalligudi police rounded up on Velpandi, a councillor, at Vellakulam. The police found him in possession of Rs. 31,700. However, the police could not find any documents.
