Four arrested for attacking schoolboys

Four teenagers, including three minor boys, were arrested by Madurai City police on Saturday for allegedly attacking two Plus Two students on Nethaji Road here on Friday.

Police sources said that of the four arrested, an 18-year-boy and another 16-year-old boy were working in shops on Nethaji Road. The other two, aged 16, were vocational course students, police said.

Police added that both the accused and the injured had studied in the same school earlier and they allegedly shared enmity over petty quarrels.

Under these circumstances, the two injured were attacked allegedly with a knife over a wordy quarrel on Saturday. The two boys were taken to Government Rajaji Hospital, where they are recuperating. The South Gate police arrested the four boys.
