The All India People’s Forum (AIPF) has decided to undertake a nationwide struggle condemning the ‘corporate and communal fascism’ of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Launching its Tamil Nadu-Puducherry chapter here on Wednesday, the forum has declared that a massive protest in the form of ‘people’s parliament’ will be held in New Delhi on March 16 involving thousands from across the country to expose the corporate and communal agenda of the Modi government.
Prior to that, the forum will hold its inaugural conference in New Delhi on March 14 and 15 where threats emanating from government’s policies will be discussed threadbare.
The preliminary meeting of the AIPF Tamil Nadu Chapter took place at MUTA Hall in here in which representatives from various social organisations, civil rights groups and trade unions participated.
A. Chandramohan, convenor, AIPF (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Chapter), in a press release here, said that the policies adopted by the Modi government in the last nine months were detrimental to economic growth and religious freedom of the country.
“Ordinances on insurance and coal, attacks on churches, attempts to impose Sanskrit and the insecurity among religious minorities are a few examples. The government run by Mr. Narendra Modi is interested in rich corporate houses rather than poor people. Their policies reflect only corporate and communal fascism,” he alleged.
Excessive importance to nuclear power plants and the decision to set up neutrino observatory were also flayed in the meeting.
