Foreign liquor seized

Around 100 bottles of foreign liquor that were allegedly brought to India for illicit sale were seized near Madurai Airport and one person were arrested by the Prohibition Enforcement Wing of Madurai district police here on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, as per the instructions of Additional Superintendent of Police (PEW) M Karthikeyan, a team raided a car parked near the airport and made the seizure. While B Mohamed Rahamathullah (26) from Ramanathapuram district was taken into custody, four other men escaped from the spot. The police are on the lookout for them.
