Fire breaks out at Tirupparankundram paint company

A major fire broke out at a paint company at Tirupparankundram near here late on Sunday night. However, no one was injured.

Five fire tenders from different stations in the district rushed to the spot.

The fire was first reported at around 10.30 p.m.

District Fire Officer K. Karuppaiah said water and foam were sprayed to put out the flames on the chemicals. As it was a Sunday, no one was inside the company.

The flames were brought under control after over 90 minutes of fire-fighting, he added.

The cause of fire was under investigation.
