Fake goods worth Rs eight cr seized in Tuticorin

Fake goods worth Rs eight crore of items such as branded shoes, cosmetics and mobile phone accessories that were being shipped from China into India have been seized at the VOC port here, police said today.

Additional Director General of Police, Rajan of DRI (Directorate of revenue Intelligence), said officials seized four containers containing the goods yesterday based on a tip off.

Items such as fake branded shoes, mobile phone accessories and batteries, cosmetics and USB data cable were among the seized goods, he said.

Mr. Rajan added that Om Sharma from Delhi, to whom the goods were booked, had applied for Anticipatory Bail in the case.
