Two persons allegedly damaged the equipment in a 108-ambulance when they were being rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital after they met with an accident near Arapalayam bus stand on Thursday evening.

Programme Manager of the 108-ambulance service G.Thanigaivel Murugan said the ambulance had rescued one of the two, who sustained injuries when the motorbike on which they were riding fell down at around 5 p.m.

The other person too had forcibly entered the ambulance. When the vehicle was rushing towards the GRH, they both created a ruckus and damaged parts of the oxygen supply system and power supply system.

“They tried to damage the automated external defibrillator, which is a costly equipment,” Mr.Murugan said.

The duo had also manhandled emergency medical technician Kannan.

Police picked up the duo.
