Members of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) submitted a petition to Election Observer (General) Rani Kumuthini on Friday alleging that All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was disbursing cash to voters.

The party functionaries, accompanied by DMDK candidate D. Sivamuthukumar, claimed in their petition that the AIADMK was actively engaged in carrying out door-to-door campaigns and distributing money.

In addition to this, they alleged that they were prevented from campaigning in a few areas due to the conspiracy of the rival party.

“We were shown black flags in a few places. Even though we have obtained permission to campaign in the area, the police do not allow us,” alleged DMDK deputy secretary P. Murugesan.

They claimed that Mr. Sivamuthukumar received threats to life and requested the observer to grant him special protection.
