Devotees pull temple car in Dindigul

Hundreds of devotees witnessed the Chithirai car festival of Sri Kalahatheeswarar Sri Abirami Amman Temple here on Monday.

After special pujas, the god and the goddess were mounted on the holy car at an auspicious time.

Later, devotees pulled the aesthetically decorated holy car which was taken on a procession on the four rath streets around the temple in the evening.

With flag hoisting, the temple festival had commenced on April 16.

‘Dhik Vijayam' took place on April 24 and the celestial wedding on April 25. The Lord and goddess were taken out on ‘veedhi ula' during all festival days. The festival will conclude with Theerthavari on April 27.
