Devotees offer special prayers at Tirupparankundram

According to temple authorities, over 50,000 devotees thronged the temple on Wednesday.

The ‘Vaikasi Visakam’ festival was celebrated with religious fervour at Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple at Tirupparankundram on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple carrying pots of milk and performed abishekam to the idols of Lord Shanmuganathar, Goddess Valli and Goddess Deivanai at the Visaka Mandapam in the temple from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special abishekams were performed to the deities at 5 a.m., Later, they were taken in a procession to the Visaka Mandapam.

The festival commenced on June 3. According to temple authorities, over 50,000 devotees thronged the temple on Wednesday.
