Condemning Thoothukudi Corporation authorities for erratic supply of drinking water, cadres of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration here on Wednesday. P. Geetha Jeevan, Thoothukudi MLA, who led the agitation near Chidambaram Nagar bus stop along Palayamkottai road here, said people got water once in 12 days. Drinking water pipelines suffered bursts at several locations and water was leaking, but no remedial measure was taken. Moreover, the Buckle Canal, a storm water drainage channel, had not been desilted.
