Cultural festival begins in city

A two-day ‘Bharatheeya Cultural Festival 2012,’ organised by the Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association (TAMBRAS) began at the Lakshmi Sundaram Hall here on Saturday. The festival showcases the many facets of the rich cultural heritage of the country through music, dance and discourse.

Starting at 6 a.m., the festival has discourse, dance and music programmes every one hour till 10 p.m. It was inaugurated by N. Narayanan, State president, TAMBRAS. V. Jagannathan, State general secretary, presided. The festival began with a discourse by Sivayogananda of Chinmaya Mission.
