A man and his wife were found dead in their house at Pandian Nagar in Gnanaolivupuram here on Tuesday. Police said Ramakrishnan, aged about 40 years, was working in a private printing press in the locality. He and his wife Tamilselvi alias Muthu did not have any children. They were suffering from cancer, a neighbour told the police. Unable to bear the pain caused by the disease, they may have ended their lives. Their bodies were sent to the Government Rajaji Hospital for post-mortem. The Karimedu police have registered a case.
A teacher at a Higher Secondary School in Vikramangalam, whose name was given as Murthy, was arrested by the Madurai district police on a sexual harassment charge on Tuesday. The Vikramangalam police said they conducted a probe on a complaint from a woman that her daughter was sexually harassed by the teacher. The complainant said the teacher, working on a temporary basis, took the girl to the laboratory on the pretext of clearing a doubt in a subject. Sensing trouble, the girl fled the place and told her parents about it.
