Cooperation and coordination from schools were essential to take more facilities and benefits offered by the NCC to students, particularly in rural areas. Performance of the NCC in the division was extremely good, said B.N. Chetan, Tiruchi NCC Group Commander.
He was interacting with NCC cadets and officers during his inspection of 14 TN Battalion here on Thursday.
Six schools in the district did not even depute NCC officers to operate NCC in their schools. “We will quit NCC activities with these schools if they failed to take immediate steps to depute teachers for this purpose. Warning had already been issued to these schools,” he said. “Cancellation of NCC will deny all opportunities offered by the NCC to students. We want to help rural students perform well using excellent NCC training and make them employable. Those schools should act immediately.”
The Colonel also praised the excellent performance of cadets in the 14 battalion NCC. The NCC has been generating highly disciplined and energetic young force with excellent leadership qualities. Earlier, a grand welcome was accorded to the colonel, who inspected the parade of Senior Division NCC cadets of G.T.N. Arts College on the battalion premises. The 14-Battalion Commander Lt. Col. K. Asokan, Major Chandrasekhar accompanied him.
