Queen Mira International School celebrated Children’s Day on Wednesday. Students from Kindergarten classes participated in the third edition of The Little Emperors, an inter-school event in which 83 schools participated.

Events such as paper plate art, clay modelling, group dance, minute to face, fancy dress, storytelling and rhyme recitation were held. The ‘Rapport Round’, an event held to particularly test the agility of students, received great reception from the audience.

Principal Sujatha Guptan said that the theme of the event was ‘Save Water.’

“We want children to be aware of their environment from a young age. In some competitions, the five natural elements were the themes,” she said.

Students in groups of 13 participated from schools across the district. The winners were presented with trophies, certificates, medals and cash awards of ₹25,000 for the first place, ₹15,000 for the second place and ₹10,000 for the third place.

Bodhi Kids International School, Theni, emerged as winners. The second place saw a tie between N.R.M. Nursery and Primary School and Velammal Vidhyalaya School, Viraganoor. The third place was bagged by St. Michael’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madurai.
