Conference of physicians in Madurai

Aimed at updating knowledge of physicians especially from rural areas

A conference of physicians is being organised in Madurai on April 6 and 7 to discuss about the latest trends in the field of general medicine.

The Madurai Branch of the Association of Physicians of India is hosting the two-day meet by inviting nearly 800 delegates from various parts of the country.

S.S.Annamalaisamy, organising committee chairman and Moses Daniel, organisng secretary, told reporters here on Thursday that the objective of the meet is to update the knowledge of physicians especially from rural areas.

The conference, which will be held at the Indian Medical Association Hall near Madurai Medical College in the city, would focus on important topics such as management of hypertension, blood pressure, cholesterol, heart problems and mosquito borne diseases.

J.Sangumani, executive committee member, has said that scientific lectures and debates are being organised by inviting expert doctors so that the recent trends could be shared by all.
