V. Varadharaju, a 1991-batch Group I officer, assumed office here on Monday as Tirunelveli City Police Commissioner following the transfer of Abhay Kumar Singh to Chennai.
After serving as Deputy Superintendent of Police at Chidambaram and Tuticorin, he was promoted and posted as Additional Superintendent of Police, Tuticorin district.
On his elevation as Superintendent of Police, he was posted in Madurai and as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar, SP, Thiruvallur, and Deputy Commissioner, St. Thomas Mount.
After being promoted as Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Varadharaju has been posted here as Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli city.
