The Syed Ammal Engineering College has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with “Universiti Sains Malaysia” (USM) in order to boost the mutual academic and research collaboration.

Chinnadurai Abdullah, secretary, SAEC, told press persons on Thursday here that documents were exchanged between him and Tan Sri Dato Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Vice Chancellor of USM, a government University in Malaysia a few days ago.

It would enable the college to have collaborative ties with the National Advanced Internet Protocol Version 6 centre (NA IPv 6) for the development of internet networks and computer engineering.

The MoU would be highly beneficial to a large number of students and faculty members of the college, many of their parents or relatives in and around Ramanathapuram went for employment in Malaysia, to undertake research activities in USM with minimum expenditure.

Similarly, the faculty and students of USM could also visit the college for mutually agreed activities including lecture, research or advanced study.

Mr. Abdullah said the MoU had enabled the institutions to exchange relevant academic materials for the purpose of the development of curricula and others.
