Churches put up

black flags

Condemning the recent rape of an elderly nun in West Bengal, black flags were hoisted at some churches in the city on Sunday. Speaking at Holy Rosary Church off Town Hall Road, Rev. Father Angel Raj, Parish Priest, South Zone Madurai Diocese, said black flags were put up to also condemn acts of vandalism in churches across the country by communal forces. Priests, nuns and church members condemned the Central government of not taking action against communal elements who were indulging in such activities.

“We also condemn acts of vandalism in churches across the country by communal forces”
